Chairman & CEO
A native of the Chicago area, Art Burdick came to San Antonio following graduation from the University of Texas at Austin and joined efforts with a local builder/developer entity that in 1978 became Schaefer-Burdick recognized as “One of America’s Outstanding Builders” by Builder Magazine and nominated for the “Lee Evans Award of Excellence.” Locally, he has been nominated for such awards as “Builder of the Year” by the Greater San Antonio Builders Association where he is also a past president and lifetime board member. As one of the original Spurs basketball team owners, Art served on that organization’s Board and Executive Committee and continues to serve on numerous civic, charitable, and industry association boards including the Roy Maas Youth Alternatives Foundation, the Dominion Architectural Control Committee and the Dominion Development Committee. Additionally, Art is a former Chairman of the Dominion Country Club and continues to provide guidance to its membership.

Alexia Herber holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio and has been a licensed Texas Realtor® since 1996 earning her Broker’s license in 2018. Her 30+ years of diverse experience in real estate as well as construction estimating, purchasing, and accounting give her a broad and extremely well-informed perspective of homebuilding operations. After serving as Controller for five years, Alexia was promoted in 2003 to Vice President and in 2018 to President and Chief Operating Officer. She oversees the major operations functions of Burdick Custom Homes, including asset and personnel management, corporate finance and accounting, construction lending, and insurance procurement.

Tracy Harris is the newest addition to the Burdick Custom Homes family and has taken the position of Director of Client Relations. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin S.U. with a Master’s degree in Education. Tracy spent 11 years teaching, coaching, and administering in the Lufkin/Livingston ISD. He joined Cordillera Ranch in 1997 and spent 15 years learning all aspects related to purchasing and building high quality homes. When he is not traveling, or golfing, you can find him in many of our outstanding communities helping people “Share The Reputation”

Monika Morris is a graduate of The University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Interior Design. She was a consultant on many Burdick Custom Home projects for almost four years prior to joining our staff as an in-house designer in 2006. She came to Burdick with experience in both residential and commercial design and has been involved with the design community in San Antonio for over 21 years. Monika has an innate sense of individualized design aesthetics and is able to capture and bring to life a client’s vision of their ideal custom home. Her step-by-step guidance takes clients through the entire design and selection process, with attention to every detail from color palettes and textures to the selection of every fixture, flooring, appliance, and much more. Monika is married with two young boys and in her leisure hours enjoys spending active time outdoors with her family, fishing, shopping and also following the sport of Nascar!

With over 20 years of home building experience in San Antonio, Tanya Kirkpatrick oversees the accounts payable and administrative operations for Burdick Custom Homes. She has over seven years of real estate management experience. Tanya is exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, providing ongoing support for all facets of our organization. She is equally committed to ensuring the satisfaction of our homeowners by providing the highest level of customer service.
Warranty Coordinator/Purchasing Assistant-Proud Team Member since 2017
Michelle Kossl joined the Burdick team as a purchasing assistant in October of 2017. She is a licensed Texas Realtor and has over 20 years administrative experience working for both a real estate developer and custom homebuilder. Michelle is also our warranty coordinator and is instrumental in providing our homeowners with excellent customer service.

Lisa Barrett is a fifth generation native Texan who joined the Burdick team as Estimator in July of 2021 and she brings construction experience spanning both the residential and commercial industries. Her start in homebuilding began 35 years ago working for her family's business. She has spent years learning the many facets of construction including: accounting, estimating, purchasing, project coordination and warranty. Lisa brings to the Burdick team her commitment to accuracy and a dedication to delivering a superior product. She's also a Master Naturalist and in her free time enjoys traveling, gardening and taking her 2 dogs hiking.

Dave is a seasoned construction manager and master craftsman whose 40 years of experience includes 5 years in California building in Malibu and the Hollywood Hills. In San Antonio since 1992, he has worked for a volume builder which was then followed by many years building custom homes in Alamo Heights and Olmos Park. Dave joined the Burdick Team in 2013, building exquisite custom homes in Terrell Hills, Alamo Heights, Champions Ridge and Greystone. His meticulous attention to detail and superior trade relationships enable Dave to provide a finished home that is greatly appreciated by his homeowners. He is committed to the highest level of homeowner satisfaction, while his knowledge and experience enables him to successfully complete very challenging homes.
Dave enjoys woodworking and cabinet building, fishing at the coast, hunting, cooking and raising different animals on his 4 acre Boerne homestead. He has been a Kendall County resident for 25 years.
Construction Assistant – Proud Team Member Since 2019
Jordan Herber joined the Burdick team as a construction assistant in 2019. He is currently attending the University of Texas at San Antonio in pursuit of his Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. He is a skilled carpenter, having grown up with both parents in the homebuilding industry. His hard work ethic and attention to detail help to ensure the quality interior and exterior finish-out synonymous with every Burdick Custom Home.
